We can all agree that puppies are cute, but sometimes they develop bad habits. So after awhile the puppy will realize that biting is not socially acceptable. Plus when they’re around other dogs they will respond well to dogs they see and pass by around your home. In the end this will reduce the aggression a great deal.
Early, when you try to stop puppy nipping, redirect the behaviour to something constructive like a chew toy or bone. If you say “No!” and then give the dog a toy to chew on instead, they will often learn very quickly that the finger is not okay, but the toy is.
Another route you can take is acting like you’re hurt when he/she nips at you. Just remember to make the whimpering sound they would make so your puppy can relate. See, your dog doesn’t want to cause you pain, and once they understand it’s hurting you they won’t do it anymore.
Training to stop puppy nipping and biting is a very important part of the relocation process, especially if your puppy is very young. Ideally, your puppy should understand that by the time they are 10 weeks old, biting is not okay. It will make the years to come much less stressful and the risk of potential aggression the future much lower.
