The 5 Commandments Of Pet Ownership
We have heard a lot about commandments of animal guardianship, where we expect a lot from our pets. We expect them to recreate, guard and protect us in at any circumstance, regardless of the conditions and environment we have kept them in. Most of the time we pet owners forget the most important thing. Pets are not simply an animal we have brought into our house, but are a member of the family. It has every right to live like any normal human without any discrimination or prejudice. The pet owners have a major responsibility when it comes to their commandment of ownership over their pets. 1) Pets need proper care in relation to their living conditions and food habits. The Pet Owners have to be alert all the time in response to the living condition of their pets, and always have to take care of the following details: – No pets should be mentally or physically abused or harmed – They should be treated with compassion and patience – They should be vaccinated with time – They should be provided with proper treatment when in ill health – They should be kept in appropriate living conditions – At old age they should not be left to stray
2) The owners of the pets need to be responsible towards maintaining the ecological balance of nature. They should not release any exotic creatures or pets into the wild without the due consent or advice of Organizations like the RSPCA. The RSPCA has been successfully able to relocate the pets into their natural habitats.
3) The pet owners are responsible for the necessary vaccination of their pets. Different , dog breeds like the Staffy, Labrador etc need constant care and nurturing. Pet owners need to maintain regular records of their pets, which should carry the following details: – Vets Name and Address where the pet is being vaccinated regularly – Date of Birth – Breed/Gender – Colour – Registration Number – Micro Chip Number – Body Weight Record – Vaccination Record
4) The pet owners have no right to use their pets as a source of business against their intrinsic worth. Their pets are in no way responsible for any misfortune or loss in their personal or professional life. The pet should not be ill treated, abused psychologically or physically for any reason. Breeds of dogs like the Staffy (Staffordshire Bull Terrier) are used for illegal dog fights where money is bid on separate dogs. Even if this dog is an ideal match for homes and family, they are getting a bad name because of these ill tempered dog fights.
5) The owner has to be considerate towards the reactions of its pet. Pets cannot talk like humans to express their emotions or problems. Most of the time they try to react abruptly to express their problems to their pets. The owner should try to understand what they are trying to communicate, rather than reacting aggressively towards the uneven reactions of their pets. The last but the most important part of the pet owners commandment which is not in his hands comes in when the end time comes for his or her pet. They should take care that their pet dies a painless death with dignity and respect.
When they enter our lives, they enter as an unexpected blow of wind and when they leave, they leave a mist of deep feelings and thoughts. It is therefore necessary for every pet lover to cherish every moment they are together with this precious gift they have been given.
