The American Mixed Breed Obedience Registration or (AMBOR) on the other hand was created in 1983 with the objective of taking into accounts the perseverance and accolades in obedience contests of mix breed dogs and handlers. This dog lovers club also gives support and inspiration to dog handlers.

Important Information for Members:

1. Mixed-breeds

Unlimited full membership is open to handlers and owners of mixed-breed dogs as long as the pet is spayed and nails are cut. There should be front and side photo shots of the dog that will be included in the application. This is the ticket to all the obedience and agility programs, automatic tabulation in the agility and obedience nationwide ranking system. This also includes a given eligibility for the annual awards.

This achievement will be given honor in AMBOR highlights (AMBOR’S newsletter) and on the website. The member will be eligible to any agility and obedience national competition in the future. Dogs with assigned numbers are marked as purebred and should be enlisted as a purebred. Also, dogs that are listed as mixed-breeds that are given a number based on the owner’s application causes its membership to be changed to a status of a purebred.

2. Purebreds

Purebred dogs can be listed with AMBOR with a rule that entry is limited to the AMBOR-supported agility program. All dogs that are purebred, listed with AMBOR and exhibits AMBOR-supported programs on agility will have competition points monitored and there will be an automatic issuance of certificates.

Dogs that are purebred and listed with AMBOR are not qualified to be a part of the agility and obedience scoring systems. They will also not be included in the website on highlights and not qualified for any mixed-breeds national competition in the future.

Handlers that register to the AMBOR-supported trials on agility should put their AMBOR number on the form at the club’s entrance so that competition points will be monitored.

Advantages of Aquaponic Gardening

Posted by: Brandon Sharp  :  Category: fish

Today, there is a new way of approaching farming. Unlike traditional agriculture where you needed plants to grow vegetables, you can now use water and fish in order to have healthy food on your table each and every day. Basically, this approach relies on the interdependence between fish and plants: the fish produces bio-nutrients for the plants, while the plants clean the water, creating a perfect environment for the fish to grow and develop. It is a blend of aquaculture and hydroponics that has plenty of advantages. If you need some reasons to get your own system started, then here are some of the advantages you will get once you assemble it.

First of all you will have fresh, organic food to place on your table each and every day, no matter what time of day or night. Whenever you want to prepare your meals your fresh vegetables are basically at your fingertips. You simply take your tomato, cucumber or your basil from the aquaponic pot(s) and use it for your meals. It can’t get any easier or healthier than that.

Not only can you grow vegetables, but you also have plenty of fresh fish. Whether you want them for consumption or as a part of your dcor, they will be a welcome addition in your home! They also provide a natural fertilizer for the plants. You will never have to use a chemical fertilizer. Depending on what you feed the fish, your produce can be 100% organic. If you ask, “How difficult is this system to put into practice?” The answer is. “Extremely simple”. Not only is this soilless system easily assembled, but due to its versatility you can place it anywhere. You can easily move it from one room to another or from one home to another it you move.

Another great advantage this type of organic garden is that you can achieve financial independence and gain control over your money. You will know exactly how much you need to spend on your food supply and you will no longer be dependent upon the supermarket for your vegetables.

Last, but not least, your hands and clothing remain clean, there’s no bending and digging, no land and very little maintenance time. The work is so minimal your fish and vegetables practically take care of themselves. The gardening system is so easy it’s suitable for almost anyone; even though incredibly busy or those short on patience.

There are plenty advantages that the aquaponic system can offer you; improved health and comfort as well as financial stability if you wish to turn it into an income.

Easy Guide On Raising Chickens For Food – Practical Approach

Posted by: Bob Pearson  :  Category: poultry

Did you know that Kentucky Fried Chicken alone needs 25,000 to 30,000 chickens per day in the US alone to operate their business? With the increase of the demand for chickens, you can clearly see that raising chickens for food is a growing business. And you can do it too! You have the option to get their meat and eggs for your family or sell them out on companies and butchers and increase your cash inflow. Here is how to start raising chickens for meat.

Most chicken farmers prefer acquiring eggs or chicks at the beginning of spring so it can give them a whole year to grow chickens out for easier tracking of their business. Same as before starting any business, intensive research is required for you to highly succeed. Consider the rules of your state when it comes to raising chickens, especially if you can really start making such a business in your area. Next, you need your finances. Raising chickens for food is not an easy task, especially in terms of providing for their shelter and nutrition. Chickens basically need a wide space for exercise and nesting, though chickens that are being raised for meat do not need such a big space, to be explained later.

Be realistic about your goals. Chicken farmers start a flock of not more than 20 chickens. There is something called “pecking order”, that causes stress among the flock when not followed well. Speaking of nutrition, commercial feeds come in lots of variants but buy one that is for chick starting. It contains the essential nutrients and medicines for healthier growth. This is highly important especially when providing food; you want your flock to be equally-fed, without any one ending up malnourished and not profitable.

As they grow older, some farmers swear by a mixture of oatmeal, vegetable oils, sunflower seeds, and an infusion of multivitamins for optimal health. Decrease pellets as they grow and introduce mash, which contains more protein for increased meat mass. When it comes to exercise, as much as possible do not allow the chickens to roam around. This can tire them out, wearing out their muscles and consequently, their meat.

Just ensure you follow these practical tips diligently, and search for a qualified butcher to do the job for you. Make sure that the chickens are processed before winter, because their meat will become more rubbery and tough as they grow older than a year.

The Zebra finch is a good selection for a new bird pet owner because they are one of the best birds to take care of and breed if you choose to do that.

In addition to being one of the most well-liked cage birds, Zebra finches are cheap, hardy, beautiful, cheerful and active with a usual life time of 7-10 years.

With their contented disposition and social nature, you find them active and busy singing and flying around their cages. They do best with other birds due to their social nature and the cage needs to be a larger size, enough so they can fly without any objects in their way.

In their natural habitat they were most usually found in grassy or brush lands, open areas, pastures or fields and are typically known as a hardy species of grass finch.

The Zebra finch comes in many types of colors and patterns which makes it fun to choose and put together.

The chest of the male finch has black and white stripes and that is how they were given their identity. The male Zebra finch also has orange-ish or chestnut sides with white spots. Customarily they have red/orange beaks and legs, a white belly, gray wings and upper body, a patch on their cheeks and a tear drop shaped marking under the eyes, which can on occasion be tan, brown, fawn or orange.

The females have similiar coloring on the upper body and wings that are gray, with a white belly. Their beaks and legs are not as brilliant in color as the males. The females also have a tear drop under their eyes, excepting the females spots are black.

Some of the other varieties of Zebra Finches are the Lightback, the Black Breasted, Orange Breasted, Pied, Flanked White, Chestnut, Black Cheek. And Fawn.

Zebra Finches make great easy to care for companions and are a joy to watch because of their social interactions with the other birds in the cage and their joyful dispositions.
